A body language expert has proposed a controversial theory about First Lady Melania Trump’s unexpected reaction during her husband’s recent speech to Congress.
Melania, 54, was seen in the audience as President Trump delivered a 90-minute address on Tuesday (March 4), outlining his administration’s achievements and future plans.
During his speech, Trump covered a range of topics, including his goals, trade tariffs, the situation in Ukraine, and border security. He also highlighted the progress made since he took office.
He told Congress: “Within hours of taking the oath of office, I declared a national emergency on our southern border. I deployed the U.S. military and Border Patrol to repel the invasion of our country. And what a job they’ve done. As a result, illegal border crossings last month were the lowest ever recorded.“They heard my words, and they chose not to come. Much easier that way. In contrast, under Joe Biden, the worst president in American history, there were hundreds of thousands of illegal crossings every month. Virtually all of them, including murderers, drug dealers, gang members, and individuals from mental institutions and insane asylums, were released into our country.
“Who would want to do that?”
While Republicans in the room erupted in applause and stood to cheer, Melania stayed seated.
This prompted thousands on social media to ask the same question: Why didn’t Melania stand?
A body language expert has offered a potentially controversial explanation.
Mark Bowden of Truthplane analyzed Melania’s body language for Sportsbook Review. He stated: “Melania did not stand alongside the upper gallery and the Trump supporters below her in the House when Trump spoke about his mass deportation initiative. Could this have been a signal that some of his policies don’t align with her views?
“Certainly, she showed no facial expressions of disgust or disdain as she remained seated.
“However, considering that her own parents’ U.S. citizenship resulted from the ‘chain migration’ process, which Trump and his supporters have publicly criticized, it’s reasonable to assume she may have wanted to take a stand—or a seat—on this issue.”
Melania did stand when Trump praised her as a ‘magnificent first lady.’
He said: “I also want to recognize someone who has dedicated herself to foster care and community. She works tirelessly on it. A very loving person, our magnificent first lady of the United States.”
“Melania’s efforts have produced incredible results, helping prepare our nation’s future leaders as they enter the workforce. Our first lady is joined by two remarkable young women, Haley Ferguson, who benefited from the first lady’s Fostering the Future initiative and is set to complete her education to become a teacher.
“And Elliston Berry, who fell victim to an illicit deepfake image created by a peer. With Elliston’s help, the Senate just passed the Take It Down Act.”
